Designing Responsive Templates for iPhone 6 & 6 Plus

Post by Mitu3120 »

Even though the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus come with some technological innovation, it’s a shame that there’s one image embedded in the mind of every iPhone lover and hater: The first iPhone 6 buyer was standing outside the New York Apple Store, trying to open his new phone and being interviewed by the press, when he opened the box, he dropped the iPhone in front of the cameras. In fact, this embarrassing moment became a part of a huge publicity stunt for the iPhone 6, so this launch of the new device has taught us email marketers a big lesson that not only we need to be careful when opening the box when unpacking it, but Apple has also rewritten its rules for handling it again.

If you thought Retina was enough, here's Retina HD
Just when you vietnam customer email list thought you were happy with how Apple’s Retina resolution display has set us up and that your emails looked beautifully on every iOS device, the folks at Apple have decided that they’ve gone too far with this and have decided to set things right. The iPhone 6 has a 4.7 inch display that features the 750 x 1334 pixels that the iPhone 5s provides. Not all that good news there, but there is one big news in the form of the iPhone 6 Plus, which is actually quite large at 5.5 inch with a 1080 x 1920 resolution display at 401 dpi for the great “Full High Definition” experience known as Retina HD.
It's strange but it has a new pixel figure

It’s obvious that Apple wants to punish those who challenge it by offering it on Androids as a viewport on their device – the CSS pixel width for the iPhone 6 is 375 while a similar size on an Android device is 360. A similar thing happens with the iPhone 6 Plus – the device width is 414 vs. Android’s 400. Just 14 or 15 pixels difference might not sound like much but it’s an extra level of complexity when it comes to rationalizing your display on your iPhone than what you’re getting on Android. If that wasn’t confusing enough for you, the iPhone 6 Plus brings a different take on it for app developers and email marketers by excelling at 1080 X 1920 from the default pixel size of 1242 X 2208 pixels as it downscales the resolution to 1.15 so every 23 pixels is reduced to 20 pixels. Is this giving you a headache?
