Digital Marketing Trends for 2017

Post by asimd5 »

With Christmas already in full swing, it's time to take a look at the forecasts for 2017. What will the new year bring? An interesting prospect, to say the least, considering how 2016 has been, but let's focus, for now, on digital marketing. Here are seven trends to keep an eye on in the coming months.

Evolution of display advertising:
Display advertising has had another bad aruba email list year, disappointing, if we're honest, thanks to poor planning, junk marketing and inexperienced people. Intrusive and poorly targeted ads have fallen out of favor with the rise of ad blockers, so advertisers are now commonly using video marketing (great when done right, terrible when done wrong) or native advertising.

Augmented Reality is here to stay:
Pokémon Go was like a fireworks display in 2016 – it was born, the fireworks went off, everyone was amazed and then the euphoria ended. There is a lack of follow-up in the augmented reality space, but I think there are companies developing great games or good marketing using gamification – so it will definitely make a comeback in 2017.

Content Marketing will become even more professional:
Content will continue to be king in 2017, and as almost all advertisers are creating content for their audience , standing out will become increasingly difficult. Consumers see hundreds of ads and content per day, so we can conclude two things: first, they will probably get bored of it, and second, they can spot a bad ad a mile away. Visual content, with impact and narrative, will win in a very competitive field in 2017. Early advertisers in the relatively new streaming video will have an advantage.

Mobile First (yes, again):
Instead of “ content is king ,” mobile-first is a bit of a cliché when it comes to digital marketing trends. But 2016 was a big year for mobile: and as always, Google led the way. Google has started to not just push for speed or mobile websites through its Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) project, but is starting to really focus on mobile SEO . Yes, it’s clear that you need a great mobile website in 2017, but not to please Google but to truly reach your target audience.
