# New opportunities (embedded)

The easiest way to track the number of leads generated is to count new opportunities in your pipeline.

This report is found in the Salesflare in the integrated "Revenue" dashboard.

# New accounts (custom)

If you aren’t immediately creating an opportunity for every new lead (which we recommend), an alternative metric you can use is the number of new accounts created.

This report is very simple to create in Salesflare: simply make a report on the "accounts" entity, apply the dashboard time filter to "created date", and use a "scorecard" as the chart type.


Total value of new opportunities per month (custom)

Counting the number of new contacts you create is a great way to measure your results and stay motivated. If you also want to know what these new contacts represent in terms of the total value they bring (and how it evolves over time), then this report will be useful.

To build it in Salesflare, you need to make a report on "opportunities" (1), apply the dashboard filter to "creation date" (2), choose a "column chart" to represent it (3), display by "opportunity creation date" (x-axis) (4), and measure by the "sum" (5) of the "opportunity value" (y-axis) (6).

Top Lead Sources (Built-in, Optional)

Now that you know how many leads you bring in and what total value they represent, the question remains which lead generation tactics bring you more leads.

That’s why you need to track the “lead source” of each new opportunity. This way, you can understand which sources are generating the most leads, so you can double your results or explore new ways to generate leads.

Since most people don’t track lead sources and we like to keep things clean in Salesflare, we’ve made this an off-by-default, but fully integrated option so you can enable the field in Settings > Customize Fields > Opportunities > Default Fields whenever you’re ready ( more on that here ).

The above report will automatically appear in your built-in “Revenue” dashboard.
