With a degree in journalism, you quickly became interested in the world of digital marketing and web design. How did you first come into contact with digital marketing and what made you see it as a possible career path?

You started combining your skills as a journalist and community manager at Porlasierra.com and Guadarramahoy.es. There you experienced what are considered the “beginnings” of digital marketing in Spain as we know it today. What methods did you use back then to distribute the content you created? What is the most valuable thing you learned?
During the last years of my degree I worked at Porlasierra.com, a portal with local information about the municipalities of the Sierra Noroeste of Madrid. These were the “beginnings” of marketing as you rightly point out and the way we had to spread the content was through “La Guía”, a printed magazine with local information that we launched monthly. We realized that a lot of time went by between the time we prepared the information and the time the magazine was published and it did not contain 100% current information, so we began to give more importance to the website and through the magazine we invited readers to continue to be informed on the online portal. At that time we did not promote through social networks and we did not know the importance of keywords for good organic positioning.
Later, Guadarramahoy.es came along, a project with which I discovered the importance of combining offline and online actions to promote and get the community to grow, as well as promotion through Social Networks. Here we did take care of the keywords and actions on social networks, mainly Facebook.
