LinkedIn is not immune to the cuts that the technology sector is suffering . Now, the social network is laying off more than 700 people and leaving China by closing its application . This is in addition to the 270,000 jobs lost in this sector in just six months.

Microsoft has withdrawn LinkedIn from China, the last remaining Western social network in the Asian country. This year the network has just turned 20 years old and due to the crisis it will lay off 716 employees.

LinkedIn CEO Ryan Roslansky has shared a post on the social network's blog explaining the current situation of the platform and the reasons for these actions. “While we are making significant progress creating economic opportunities for our members and customers and experiencing record engagement on the platform, we are also seeing shifts in customer behavior and slower revenue growth,” said CEO Ryan Roslansky.

LinkedIn is implementing changes in response to a constantly changing global environment and a challenging macroeconomic outlook . In line with these factors, the company has initiated a global business reorganization program that involves, among other measures, the elimination of jobs and the closure of the Chinese application InCareer .

LinkedIn plans to refocus its global enterprise organization to drive growth. It will focus on three main areas: reorganizing work, agility and team alignment.
