The National Innovation Company (Enisa) signed a total of 500 financing operations for ' startups ' in 2021, for an amount close to 86.8 million euros, according to the public company attached to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism on Tuesday.

Last year, Enisa approved 560 operations worth 93.4 million euros. The number of financing applications received amounted to 1,853.

Companies less than three years old account for 74% of the loans approved in 2021, and 62% of the total investment.

By sector, ICT continues to lead the list of approved aid, accounting for 37% of applications and 38.5% of total investment, with 36 million euros, followed by Other Services and Professional, Scientific and Technical Activities in third place, which, unlike in previous years, are ahead of approved loans for the Manufacturing Industry.

By autonomous communities, Catalonia albania email list accounts for 37% of approved loans and 35% of investment, followed by the Community of Madrid (30% operations and 31% investment) and the Valencian Community (8.7% operations and 8.5% investment).

Enisa has five lines of funding, three provided by the Ministry of Industry (Young Entrepreneurs, Entrepreneurs and Growth, with 79.4 million euros); another funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, AgroInnpulso, with 5.3 million, and Digital Entrepreneurs, funded by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation with 8.6 million.

“Promoting the creation of startups, the growth of SMEs, closing the gender gap in entrepreneurship, and providing the necessary tools to boost the rural agricultural sector are major challenges that we have taken on with enthusiasm, facilitating these changes through participatory loans and impact financing,” says José Bayón, CEO of Enisa.

For 2022, Enisa has allocated 125.5 million euros, between the General State Budget and the funds from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. In this sense, “European funds represent a great opportunity to carry out the change and transformation necessary for the advancement of Spain,” Bayón stressed.

Last December, Enisa invested 1.165 billion euros, with more than 7,700 loans disbursed and more than 6,700 companies financed since the granting of participatory loans began.
