Hayde Hernandez is an entrepreneur who has managed to get her own project off the ground thanks to her passion for challenges and especially for the audiovisual world. Currently, the core of her business is producing videos and advising her clients on how to get the most out of them in their marketing strategy. She tells us her fascinating story and gives us some examples of her work in the following interview.
You initially studied audiovisual arts, theatre and acting. What did you want to do back then?
When I was a child, I was taken to see the musical CATS and I was very impressed, so for some basic information about singapore many years I wanted to dedicate myself to doing theater. I liked acting, but I also wrote plays and directed , this was in my childhood and adolescence. I was attracted to all aspects of production and ever since I can remember I have been taking photos. So when it came to choosing a career, I leaned towards Audiovisual Arts. At that time I imagined myself making music videos and animated shorts like the ones I saw on MTV .
You then graduated in Graphic Design and co-founded Cocoon Comunicación estrategia. What kind of services did you offer and which ones were most successful?
At Cocoon we specialise in interactive material for internal communication in companies, that is, we offered Flash training courses, which were the types of jobs that were most popular at that time.
Later you studied photography and dedicated part of your career to working in this field. What has it meant for you to be able to add photography to your skills as a professional? How would you define your style?
Photography was something that came naturally to me, but I put it aside because I felt it was more like a hobby. When I decided to really train myself, it was because I wanted to add it to my services. I liked it so much that at one point in my career I only wanted to take photos. I work mainly in advertising photography . But if I had to decide on a style, I would say that I love working with natural light and I really like taking portraits. I like to reveal aspects of people through the image and how you undress them like onions, removing layers. Portrait photography allows you to be very close to people and perceive how they see themselves, and how they like to be seen. This is something that I love about this medium.
