HTC CEO Peter Chou has admitted that the company's poor results in 2012 were due to a poor marketing strategy . However, he says that in 2013 the situation will improve as the Taiwanese company has committed to regaining the trust of consumers by developing more innovative products.

2012 has not been a good year for HTC. Despite the launch of several smartphones that have managed to establish themselves in the market, the company's poor financial results have caused the Taiwanese company's profits to fall to their lowest level in six years in the third quarter and its shares to fall by up to 80 percent from their record high in 2010.

However, all is not lost for HTC and they are confident that 2013 will be their year. This is what the CEO of the company said in an interview with the American newspaper The Wall Street Journal. "The worst bermuda email address is probably over for HTC, 2013 will not be so bad," said Chou.

HTC's main mistake in 201 was its marketing strategy. Chou says that its competitors have focused all their efforts and resources on that aspect and that HTC has not done enough to remain at the "forefront of the market."

However, for 2013, HTC's strategy is not just to focus on marketing but to offer new and innovative products to consumers. "Although we don't have as much money to counter Samsung and Apple products, the most important thing is to have unique products that appeal to consumers."

“One of the things I had learned since last year is to act quickly and respond to market changes. We are being more flexible now. We are constantly fine-tuning our sales plans and positioning in different markets,” Chou concluded.
