Roadmap for entrepreneurs – Starting a business in difficult times

Post by asimd17 »

Regular readers of the blog will surely remember the post I published about bye bye marketing , the interesting book in which Agustín Medina explained how the rules of the game have changed in today's marketing.

Well, from the same author we have had available for a few months the book “Roadmap for entrepreneurs” , where the author, based on his experience and that of countless entrepreneurs from all sectors, tells what are the basic guidelines to follow to create a company in difficult times, answering fundamentally architect data three basic questions: Why do it? When to do it? and finally, How to do it?

To start, we find an interesting prologue written by Angel María Herrera, entrepreneur behind projects like Bubok. Angel María highlights something very interesting and characteristic of our society: “I was educated to be a civil servant and if not, to work for a big company.” This condition of the society in which we live is, from my point of view, the first step that every entrepreneur faces when he decides to stop being an employee and start being self-employed.

The development of the book is very interesting. On the one hand, we have the 13 chapters perfectly structured with the concepts and experiences that Agustín Medina transmits to us , and on the other hand, we have the comments and advice that are the result of the experience of a significant number of anonymous entrepreneurs who voluntarily volunteered to do this work. Let's say that it has been a truly participatory book in which the great majority of entrepreneurs will see themselves reflected in many of the comments and experiences that we will be able to read.

Throughout the 170 pages of the book, the author takes us into the world of entrepreneurship, showing us all the positive and negative aspects of being an entrepreneur and which must be taken into account before starting his activity. From motivations, through expectations, the risks of undertaking, the reality of day to day, the independence it provides, resources, partners and the power game, the team that will accompany you on the road to success or failure... throughout 13 chapters among which the tenth entitled "Success and failure" stands out, where a series of important aspects to take into account are listed to move between both sides of the same coin since as Agustín Medina says at the beginning of this chapter "Success has a price that is usually paid in failures.
